Aref Abou Zaher

Aref is an Energy, Water, and Utilities expert with 18 years of North American, EU and GCC in management consulting, OEM, new business setup and stakeholder management within the conventional and renewable energy sector, Demand Side Management and Energy Efficiency.

In his nearly 2 decades in the sector, Aref assumed key executive management and senior advisory roles within the public and private sectors at General Electric, Ernst & Young, A.T Kearney, ITT, Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, and currently as Managing Director of TAQATI, which is the newly setup entity at Etihad ESCO (wholly owned subsidiary of DEWA) mandated by Dubai Supreme Council of Energy to successfully implement the Demand Side Management Strategy (DSM 2030) of Dubai.

In the past 7 years, Aref has been focusing on Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management, Smart Grid and Smart City program design and development, strategic planning, policy design, business setup and turnaround, revenue generation, expansion and growth strategies, and new DSM initiatives introduction and commercialization mainly in GCC. He has consulted for key government and private clients in the region to help them design and roll-out energy efficiency programs, develop and implement strategic energy-related transformation plans, design their Smart Grid and Smart City programs and create an innovative culture for sustainability.

He holds an MBA from University of Texas, Post-MBA from McGill, Canada, and BE from the American University of Beirut. He resides with his family in Dubai since 2009.

Walid Al Ghreri

Chief Executive Officer, Tarshid, KSA

Waled Alghreri is the CEO of the National Energy Services Company (NESCO), which was formed as a Super-ESCO with a mandate to address energy efficiency in the government segment of Saudi Arabia. Tarshid is a market catalyst with an objective to develop a thriving energy efficiency sector by focusing on the delivery of demand-side solutions and complimentary supply-side technologies such as rooftop PV’s. Its main role is to develop, manage, and finance demand-side retrofit projects in buildings and facilities including street lights.

Prior to becoming CEO of Tarshid, Mr. Alghreri played an integral role in the Saudi Energy Efficiency Program (SEEP) where he focused on designing the ESCO sector framework and launching essential initiatives to address the regulatory, financial, and human capital enablers for the sector. He has lead the efforts of setting up the ESCO foundations in Saudi Arabia including the development of the ESCO regulatory framework, and developing the licensing scheme for ESCO’s in collaboration with the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC).

Mr. Alghreri began his career with Saudi Aramco in 2000, where he was tasked with executing and managing diverse multi-million investment opportunities both locally and globally. He obtained his Bachelors degree from Virginia Tech and his MBA from ESADE Business School.

Rashid Al Noori

After building a solid career in the business he became President of Havells Sylvania Europe in January 2014 then CEO of Feilo Sylvania in January 2016. Anne Le Guennec

Chief Executive Officer, Enova

Anne Le Guennec is the Chief Executive Officer of Enova. Anne leads Enova, a joint-venture created in 2002 between Majid Al Futtaim Ventures and Veolia, providing building energy and facility management services for a wide portfolio of public and private clients. She joined Veolia in 1998 and over a career spanning 18 years, has gained considerable experience in all facets of business development, technical and operational management. Starting her career in France, Anne headed a team in charge of waste management contracts with municipalities and industries. She was then appointed as Project Director for EPC projects. In 2008, she became the Technical Director for Water, Wastewater and Electricity activities at Veolia in Morocco. Anne oversaw Veolia’s Business Development in the Middle East prior to her appointment as CEO of Enova in April 2016.

Pierre Baillargeon

Vice President, Econoler, Canada

Pierre Baillargeon is the Vice President of Econoler, Canada. Pierre is a senior expert with over 35 years of experience in the energy efficiency sector. Over the years, he has developed an integrated vision of the various ways energy efficiency can be implemented in the market. He has worked on assignments to support governments in establishing their national energy efficiency policies, strategies, support programs and various regulations to enforce the mandatory implementation of energy efficiency measures (building codes, standards and labelling, energy management, mandatory data disclosure, national energy efficiency fund, etc.). He has also worked closely with energy efficiency agencies, utilities and EE program managers to design, implement and evaluate the results of a large number of EE programs targeting the industrial, commercial, institutional, residential and transportation sectors.

Guy Winebrenner

Vice President – Energy & Environment, RTI International

Guy Winebrenner currently serves as the Vice President of the Middle East Energy Sector for RTI International. In this role, he is responsible for the overall conduct of projects and growth of the energy and water consultancy across the Middle East. Since 2008, he has served as a lead technical expert on various energy and water efficiency projects in the United Arab Emirates. He has earned both bachelor and master’s degrees in engineering, has completed numerous post-graduate courses in business and law and is a registered professional engineer in several US states. Prior to joining RTI, Mr. Winebrenner was the global director of the energy sector for Amec Foster Wheeler, where he directed specialized resources from across the company to manage programs and solve problems that are important to its power and gas utility customers.

Eng. Eiman Alameri

Eng. Eiman Alameri works for the Studies & Standards Team, Infrastructure & Municipal Assets Sector, Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM). She has worked in Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) since 2013 in the Municipal Infrastructure and Assets Sector. She studied Architectural Engineering in United Arab Emirates University. She has been involved in the different disciplines of infrastructure projects designs including storm water, road Geometry, traffic, road safety, lighting and others. She worked in launching the Infrastructure Designs Approvals electronic system. Andrea Di Gregorio

Andrea Di Gregorio is a strategy and change management professional with more than 15 years of experience in the energy & utilities and oil & gas sectors in Europe and the Middle East.

Fadi Shakhshir

FADI S. ALSHAKHSHIR is an Author, keynote speaker, lecturer and FM professional who works as the Director of Strategy and Compliance/Corporate Facilities Management, in Emaar Properties, Dubai, United Arab Emirates and as a Lecturer for master degree students in Heriot Watt university (Dubai Campus). And he is one of two main authors of the Energy Centered Maintenance book.

Bashar Kassab

Director - Hard Facilities Management, Emaar Properties

Bashar Kassab is responsible for the Facilities Management operations for the Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall.

He works at Emaar Properties as the Director for HFM. He has graduated from Al Mosul University in Iraq with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and from Heriot Watt University with Masters of Science in Facilities Management. He also holds multiple professional certifications such as Six Sigma Blackbelt, Certified Energy Manager, Certified Lead Auditor ISO 50001, Reliability centered Maintenance Facilitator, as well as certificates in strategic planning and thinking.

Since 2003 he has had a wide experience in building design & construction while working with important consultants and contracting companies and the main developers in the UAE and the region. In 2011 he moved into Facilities management business where he became the facilities manager for The Dubai Mall. In 2012 he moved to Manage the FM in Burj Khalifa as a Senior FM Manager and then as a Director Managing Both the Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa FM operations.

Sandrine Le Biavant

David Auriau

David Auriau is the Chief Executive Officer of Corys Environment. David has more than 18 years of industry and consulting experience. He has built his industry knowledge from experience in general management, business development and project management across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Hassan Younes

Hassan is an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer, a certified trainer by the Association of Energy Engineers for the CEM course, an appointed Consultant for the ASHRAE 62.1 Standard and the recipient of the prestigious Energy Professional of the Year 2015 for the Middle East region by the AEE in Orlando, Florida.

He also facilitates the Building Retrofit program in Dubai organized by the Emirates Green Building Council in collaboration with Masdar and the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.

Hassan is on the Boards of Governors of the local and regional chapters of ASHRAE and CIBSE, the internationally-adopted standardizing authorities based in the USA and UK respectively. In those capacities, Hassan works to promote the advancement and improvement of the regional construction industry by collaborating with industry professionals, academia, and governmental entities. He is currently the Chairman of the Industry Advisory Panel of the Herriot Watt Architectural and Engineering Program.

With extensive experience in engineering systems design, analysis and consulting and a passionate objective of raising the industry and sustainability standards in the region, Younes entered a partnership to establish Griffin Consultants where he is responsible for all technical and developmental aspects of the firm. Throughout his career, he was involved in the design of multiple high-end developments including retail, residential, commercial, and hospitality projects some of which are iconic in the Emirate of Dubai like The Beach (JBR) and City Walk. Hassan led and completed multiple energy audits with private and governmental entities and provided consultancy on various governmental energy efficiency programs.

Charles Blaschke

Managing Director, TAKA Solutions

Charles Blaschke is the Founder and CEO of Dubai based smart energy efficiency provider, Taka Solutions. He started the company in 2012 after working in the automotive, mining, industrial, and technology consulting industries with four years of building engineering experience since moving from Dubai in 2008. Charles and the company specialize in fully-financed, paid-from-savings Energy Performance Contracting efficiency projects. The goal is to help reduce 20% of the world's energy consumption using technology, finance, and engineering, applying IoT, energy modeling, energy monitoring, asset management and BIM.

Cuneyt Comez

Cüneyt Çömez is Director for Service Sales & Operations in Honeywell Building Solutions. In this role, Cuneyt provides senior business leadership to the regions in the area of responsibility supporting them in establishing business plans, pursuing marketplace opportunities and delivering profitable service growth. The role provides leadership to more than 500 people with an annual turnover close to 100 M$. Cüneyt is also responsible for implemeting HBS Connected Services portfolio offerings which is a part of Honeywell Sentience IoT platform. He works closely with HBS global team to feed customer requirements into product development teams to develop and launch new BIoT solutions and offerings.

Francisco Ramalheira

Business Development & Marketing Director, Enova

Having been with Enova since 2009, Francisco was appointed Business Development & Marketing Director in September 2017. With an extensive operational background in, and knowledge of, different business models, as well as a proven track record consolidating and developing business units, he is the perfect fit for this role.

Francisco was previously Director of Operations responsible for Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, a position that went beyond operational delivery, entailing the management of supporting functions and direct responsibility for the business units’ financial results and business development.

Francisco is knowledgeable about all building services, with a deep technical exposure and interest in energy conservation and efficiency, renewable energy, CHP and HVAC systems. Pablo Izquierdo

PMO Director, Dubai Carbon

Dr. Pablo Izquierdo is a PMO Director at the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (DCCE). He is responsible for providing technical support, management and expertise on sustainability. His particulars areas of expertise are energy and waste management in buildings, Green House Gases (GHG) accounting, energy auditing and management and LEED certifications. Dr. Pablo has an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) on Environmental Technologies from the University of Surrey in UK. He also holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree on Applied Energy from Cranfield University in the UK. Pablo also has an Industrial Engineering degree from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in Spain.

Michel Farah

Elie Matar

Elie Matar is the Head of Electricity at the Regulatory and Supervisory Bureau in Dubai. The Bureau regulates the electricity and water sector in the emirate. Elie is predominantly focused on the regulation of building retrofits to promote energy and water efficiency in Dubai and on regulating electricity generation under the IPP model. Elie holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a master’s in Business Administration. He has more than 17 years of experience in the utilities sector, largely gained through consulting work in the UAE, Canada and Lebanon.

  • Concrete protection from wet weather conditions using highly flexible cementitious waterproofing membranes
  • WALOCEL™ Cellulose Ether and Redispersible Latex Power (RDP) designed to enhance dry mortar performance.

He also drives energy efficiency related regional demo case studies using monitoring techniques to demonstrate energy savings potentials and represents Dow in external events to connect with industry players and decision makers.

Muhammad holds a scholarship bachelor degree in Industrial Chemistry from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). He is a founding class master degree graduate in Chemical Engineering from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and a project management master degree graduate with specialization in construction and infrastructure from the University of Liverpool. Muhammad has previous six years of paints and coatings formulation experience with Dow and is a recipient of the 2013 EPA Presidential Green Chemistry award.
