Innovation, creativity and excellence honored at RetrofitTech Award 2018 Gala Dinner

The 4th RetrofitTech Awards recognized and honored innovation, creativity and excellence in promoting retrofitting best practices during an Awards Gala Dinner held on April 9 2018, at Roda Al Bustan Hotel. The ceremonial Gala dinner welcomed an exceptional quality of finalists and winners in addition to the judges, the organizers, the sponsors and dignitaries representing governmental bodies and executives from the sustainability industry.

For the second time, supported by Etihad ESCO and TAQATI and organized by ACM – Advanced Conferences & Meetings, the Awards attracted record submissions from projects owners, consultants, hoteliers, lighting, HVAC experts across the UAE and the GCC.

During this prestigious event, the names of winners were announced.

The winners were selected by an expert judging panel consisting of Ali Mohamed Al Jassim, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad ESCO, Aref Abou Zaher the Executive Director of TAQATI, Graeme Sims, Executive Director at the ‎Regulatory & Supervisory Bureau (RSB), Faisal Ali Hassan Rashid, Director at the Dubai Supreme Energy Council, Stephane Le Gentil the Energy Efficiency Director at Engie and Hassan Younes, Director at Griffin Consultants.

Winners of the 4th RetrofitTech Awards included:

Retrofit of the Year award was won by SIEMENS.

DAIKIN has won the award in the Best Innovation in HVAC category. Best Innovation in Lighting award went to LUCECO. This year’s winner for the Public Building Retrofit Award was SMART4POWER, while the Best Coatings and Paints award went to DOW CHEMICAL. Consultant of the Year winner: GRIFFIN CONSULTANTS, Best Contractor & Facilities Management Award winner: ENOVA, Best Commercial Building Award: ENVIROFINA, Green Hotel of the Year winner: ENOVA, Best Innovation in Automation Award winner: ARMSTRONG FLUID TECHNOLOGY.

These organizations represent the best of energy efficiency practices and demonstrate that sustainability plays a major role in enhancing people’s lives in UAE and elsewhere,” said Albert Aoun, Chairman of IFP Group.
